The Safari Lounge Restaurant

21 Cadzow Place, Edinburgh, Scotland

Visited here for lunch today (under duress until I checked trip advisor!). This used to be quite a rough pub and hasn't changed much from the outside.
Take a giant leap of faith and go inside - you'll not regret it.
Still quite traditional pub layout until you reach the Tigers den at the back!
Food is definitely not traditional pub fare! A range of lovely bites and meals from around the world and a great brunch menu too.
Had celeriac and blue cheese soup with a "Young Turk" sandwich- vegetarian option. All lovely although I think a grilled aubergine or courgette may be better than the fritter! My friend had smoked salmon which had lots of dill and fresh flavours. Soup and sandwich for £6 - can't complain at all!
Lovely staff and service.
Really - you should try it!
